MT LiDAR LLC, a division of Sands Surveying, Inc., specializes in design quality remote sensing supporting the engineering, surveying and mapping professions.  Our firm is based in Kalispell, Montana and began operations in 2007.  As part of the staff, MT LiDAR employs a registered land surveyor to aid in survey and control services for LiDAR data acquisition.  Our focus is providing accurate, high resolution LiDAR services and data to our customers quickly so they can complete their project and meet deadlines.

MT LiDAR operates with a MD 520N turbine helicopter.  On-board GPS aids in navigation and data acquisition.  The company uses an Optech ALTM Galaxy sensor for aerial mapping and data collection.

MT LiDAR has flown over eighty projects and hundreds of thousands of acres in Montana and Idaho varying from projects for land planning and design to gravel pit mapping; soil and stream restoration projects to floodplain studies.  Deliverables range from providing classified point clouds to complete DTM, contour, planimetrics and intensity image products.  MT LiDAR can produce data in any specified coordinate system including State Plane, UTM and local systems.  Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures are in place to assure accurate, quality data is produced.
